My grandfather and some of his brothers, Zoltoks, changed their surname to Newman when they went to South Africa, sometime around the turn of the last century. Other brothers went to the United States. Family legend has it that they were fleeing 25 years "service" in the Tzar's army. Anyway, wouldn't that be a hoot. One can't have too many cousins. Vancouver had a garbage strike a number of years ago, and it was also a wake up call. Many people just ended up dumping their garbage at the entrance to city hall, though. I am generally pro-union, though not universally. I would like a society that doesn't need them, but until some radical shifts in corporatism happens, we need them. I totally agree.
